Newcomers’ Orientation

Newcomers’ Orientation

code of conduct

If this is your first time with us, please take a few minutes to read our Code of Conduct:

We are committed to creating a warm, inviting atmosphere that celebrates the community’s diversity. We embrace the IDEA (Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Access) principles, ensuring everyone can contribute and feel appreciated, regardless of background, identity, or experience. We strive to remove barriers to participation to ensure that our events and opportunities are accessible to all. By encouraging collaboration and diverse perspectives, we aim to establish an environment that fosters innovation and resolves community issues.

Respect, kindness, and constructive engagement are the cornerstones of our community. We expect everyone to act with integrity and to treat others with dignity and respect. Harassment, discrimination, or exclusionary behaviour will not be tolerated. By adhering to these guidelines, we can build a positive, supportive, and dynamic CivicTech space that reflects the diverse and vibrant nature of the Greater Moncton community.

Policy on Time:

  • Five-minute warnings will be given before any scheduled session starts
  • Sessions will begin and end at the time provided
  • End of the evening, you will be given a 5-minute warning to wrap up
  • Polite Engagement
  • Keep your questions relevant
  • One question per participant, with one follow-up for clarity
  • If you have more questions, you can ask at the end if there is time left
  • When feedback is requested, keep it short and relevant
  • Only add to the discussion ideas or solutions that have not been brought up by other participants
  • We want everyone to have a chance to be Heard and feel Respected.
  • Your cooperation is appreciated!
